Humpty Dumpty Birthday Party Ideas

    Humpty Dumpty Invitation Ideas
Egg shaped note cards
Egg shaped puzzle invitation - Cut out large egg shapes from heavy card stock paper.  Print party information on the front of the egg.  Cut egg into several pieces and place in an envelope.  Guests will have to put the egg back together again to read the party details.
Egg container - Write party information on a small piece of paper and roll up.  Place into a plastic egg.  Write the guests name on the outside of the egg.
Note cards with a brick wall picture on the front or glue brick patterned scrapbook paper to the front of note cards.

Humpty Dumpty Decoration Ideas
Helium balloons look like Humpty Dumpty when blown up.  Tie bunches of colorful balloons around the inside and outside of the party area.
Scatter plastic Easter eggs on the party table.
Make a Humpty Dumpty egg wreath for the front door by hot gluing plastic Easter eggs to a wreath form.

Activities
Humpty Dumpty Eggs - Make a cute Humpty Dumpty that guests can take home.  Buy extra large plastic eggs (like Easter eggs).  Place a golf ball or large bouncy ball inside the plastic egg - this will make it wobble.   Tape the egg halves together.   Cut out eyes, noses, mouths, hats, etc. from felt and let the children glue them onto the egg to make a Humpty Dumpty face.  Cut long legs from felt (1" x 6 - 7") and glue them to the bottom part of the egg.  The legs can then hang down over a wall, mantle or dresser.
Make a puzzle station and let the children put together puzzles.

Humpty Dumpty Party Games
Humpty Dumpty Egg Hunt - Fill plastic Easter type eggs with candy or prizes and hide them before the party starts.  Let birthday party guests search around for the eggs and keep the prizes that they find.  To make it easier give each guest a paper bag or basket to collect their eggs in before they start (this can also be used for the Goody or Loot bag that the kids can take home after the party).

Piñata
- Set up an egg shaped piñata for the children to try and crack open.

Egg and Spoon Race - Children race to see which team can carry an egg on a spoon through a obstacle course or around a cone and back to their team.  Divide guests into two teams and give each team a wooden spoon and an egg.  One by one they have to carry the egg on the spoon through an obstacle course or around a cone and back to their team.  If they drop the egg they must return to the line and start over.  When they complete the course they hand the egg and spoon off to the next person in line.  Use a plastic egg or real egg.

Humpty Dumpty Egg Roundup - Party guests try and place three plastic eggs into a circle by blowing on them.  Cut large circles from construction paper and place them on the floor about 15 feet from the starting line.  If possible give each guest 3 eggs of the same color - but different colors from the other guests.  Tell them they must blow all three of their eggs into their circle - the eggs have to be in the circle all at the same time.  This is harder then it looks!
Humpty Dumpty Had a Great Fall - Line plastic Easter eggs along a wall or place a 2 x 4 board on a table and call it "the wall".  Line party guests up about 10 feet from the wall and have them try and knock the eggs off the wall by throwing a bean bag at them or, if outside, shooting them with a squirt gun.

Egg Toss - Divide guests into teams of two.  Give each team an egg.  Have them stand 2 feet apart and toss the egg back and forth one time.  If they drop the egg then they are out.  If they don't drop the egg then they will each step back one step and toss the egg back and forth again.  Keep repeating until there is only one team who hasn't dropped their egg.
